Yonkers Police Arrest Man for Stealing from Church Donation Box

Defendant Caught on Video at Sacred Heart Church

On Friday, January 19th, 2018, at approximately 2:47 PM, members of the Yonkers Police Department’s 4th Precinct Anti-Crime unit responded to the Sacred Heart Church at 110 Shonnard Place upon receiving information of a suspicious male removing money from the Church’s donation box. Upon arrival officers located the suspect attempting to leave the area and placed him into custody – he is identified as Kevin Madison, a 39 year old resident of Morningside Place, Yonkers NY.

Investigation yielded that Madison entered the Church and allegedly utilized a metal hook to “fish” approximately $30 USD from the donation box without permission or authority, and attempted to leave the area in possession of the same. Madison was observed on surveillance video by administrators who contacted the police; the metal hook and an amount of United States currency were recovered as evidence. As officers were placing Madison into the rear of a police vehicle, he became belligerent and kicked the rear door and banged his head against the partition several times; officers transported Madison to a local area hospital for evaluation prior to processing his arrest.

Madison was subsequently booked on criminal charges including Petit Larceny, Possession of Burglar’s Tools, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Obstructing Governmental Administration – all misdemeanors in the NYS Penal Law. Madiosn was arraigned in Yonkers Criminal Court on 1/20/2018; his next court appearance is scheduled for 02/01/2018. The prosecution of this case is being managed by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

NOTE: Booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

BOYCOTT FOR BLACK LIVES T-SHIRT  BUY HERE

Colin Kaepernick has committed no crime other than spoke truth to power about the injustices to black people in the United States. For this, he should not be punished by blackballing him from the game of football. If people want change, we must Boycott! It’s up to us to protest but not just physically; with our money. If black lives don't matter to them, then our black dollars shouldn't either.
