Sharrone Salaam (mother of wrongful convicted Yusef Salaam on The Central Park 5) tells her story on People Before Politics Radio – Episode 47, Sunday, August 16th. Sister Salaam talks in detail how the wrongful conviction of her son, effected her and the rest of the family, about finding the strength to be there for her other children. She goes on to discuss the hate mail and even death threats she received, how those who knew her cross to the other side of the street when they saw her coming and how many felt it was her fault for what her soon was convicted of doing.
Yusef appeared on PBP Radio in Episode 33 on April 12, and gave an inside look to what the wrongfully convicted go through. Then after hearing Sister Salaam speak at Saturday, July 25th at Mt. Morris Ascension Presbyterian Church located at 15 Mt.Morris Park at the corner of 122nd Street in Harlem, BW had to invite her to tell her story.
