National Organization For Women Westchester Endorse Milagros for White Plains Mayor

List of endorsements swell for Lecuona entering the primary

White Plains – The National Organization for Women, Westchester chapter announced their support for Common Council Member Milagros Lecuona today in the race for White Plains mayor. Lecuona has been a NOW member since 1992 before she began her career in politics.

“As an immigrant, a woman, and a Latina, Milagros knows firsthand the impact of discrimination.  This experience drives her to work tirelessly to support legislation that eliminates barriers in healthcare, education, workforce, housing or any other of the issues that affect that directly impact women.  She will make a fine mayor,” said Elizabeth Zimmerman, Co-President of Westchester NOW.

“We believe the diversity Milagros brings to the Common Council of White Plains goes beyond gender and race.  She is an independent thinker with a vision that incorporates her world view and experience as an urban planner.  That is what the Mayor’s seat needs,” Westchester NOW Co-President Jon Wegienek added.

“I want to thank the Westchester chapter of NOW for their support in my run for White Plains Mayor.  Their endorsement is especially meaningful since I have been a member of NOW since 1992.  I have always admired their commitment to women and girls and have great respect for the work they do,” Lecuona stated.

Beyond the thousands of supporters that have shown their trust and support in Lecuona, she has been endorsed by the Hispanic Democrats of Westchester, the Northeastern New York Carpenters Union, the Professional Fire Fighters of White Plains, the Westchester and Putnam Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, the White Plains Retired Uniformed Fire Fighters Association, the New York State Nurses Association, the Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association, Blacks in Law Enforcement of America and several White Plains community leaders.

The Democratic primary in White Plains is today.

BOYCOTT FOR BLACK LIVES T-SHIRT  BUY HERE

Colin Kaepernick has committed no crime other than spoke truth to power about the injustices to black people in the United States. For this, he should not be punished by blackballing him from the game of football. If people want change, we must Boycott! It’s up to us to protest but not just physically; with our money. If black lives don't matter to them, then our black dollars shouldn't either.
